About O-Town Sound
Founded in 2011, O-Town Sound is a dedicated and diverse group of singers. We regularly celebrate our love of music, learning and friendship through weekly rehearsals, community performances, and annual competitions. After resuming in-person rehearsals in 2022 many of our members chose to retire from the chorus. Our core group is now 8-strong and we have been working to grow the chorus over the past two years. We are looking for a leader who will help us continue to grow and develop as accomplished barbershop singers.
O-Town Sound exists to celebrate harmony. Harmony refers to the music that we make as a barbershop chorus, but it also refers to the cooperation, friendship and unity we value as a group. Unit sound and unity of spirit are what we aim for as we pursue our collective love of four-part harmony. We have worked hard to build a culture of musical excellence, personal growth, and meaningful friendships. We are committed to creating a place of openness where dedicated singers can work to achieve their best personal sound and we are looking for a director who will fit into our culture and who shares our core values.
Desired Qualifications

A passion for barbershop

Previous directing experience is preferred but not required

Artistic vision and administrative skills to lead, revitalize, and grow a dedicated small chorus

Excellent communication and leadership skills

Available to lead rehearsals in Orlando on Monday nights from 7:00PM - 9:30PM

Available for various weekend and weekday performances and competitions throughout the year
